How Rodrigo made $60K from a directory of job boards
Meet Rodrigo Rocco.
Rodrigo lives in Mallorca, Spain.
He started coding at the early age of 12 to learn Clipper. He quickly realised that programming was what he wanted so when he finished high school he started studying Computer Systems Engineering where all the programming classes were based on C++
After 4 years Rodrigo quit. Uni wasn’t for him. He was only interested in coding classes and being behind the screen.
Learn more about Rodrigo and the products he is currently building. The focus will be on his crown jewel - JobBoardSearch

The story told by Rodrigo Rocco
After a lot of travel I got back to coding in 2008 and focused on web development.
I went to a NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) and offered to make their website for free with the condition of adding my email in the footer. They accepted.
A week later after launching a real estate company from Barcelona reached out asking me to build their website with a self hosted booking engine. That was my first big paid project.
My current projecs
Over the years I’ve build multiple products (in public):
jobboardsearch.com
Meta directory of job boards
propertydescriptionai.com
Property listing descriptions generator
reviewreplyai.com
Instant AI-powered review and reply generator
villasmediterranean.com
Villas listing in Mallorca
touristitinerary.com
AI telegram bot that suggests cool itineraries
At lot of projects - but my main focus is on JobBoardSearch. This is what I do. I don’t have a 9-5.

Building and launching
I started buidling JobBoardSearch in 2022.
I don’t remember the exact date in 2022 but it was the same day that I started building it, I put it online after 5 hours of work and collecting a dozen job boards.
It has made $60K so far. The website has had close to 850K page views.
Right now the website has over 500 job boards listed and another 300 on the waiting list.
The business model
I sell job board listing upgrades as subscriptions. I also sell sponsored slots as one-off payments.
Additionally I sell a link building service for job boards (submitting to 100+ directories). Soon I’ll also be adding SEO services for job boards.
Marketing
I spend $0 on ads. It’s all organic and a lot of the traffic is thanks to the bots I built to post jobs across multiple platforms.
Over the years I’ve managed to build various platforms which send traffic to JobBoardSearch.
Subreddit
I have a subreddit with 12.5k members. I created a bot that posts jobs every hour and the subreddit grows organically.
Jobseekers newsletter
I run a newsletter with 13K+ subscribers. I send out the best jobs of the week + job hunt tips.
I grew it by adding subscribe forms to the website - example below.
Form to subscribe to the JobBoardSearch newsletter
Telegram group
I also have a Telegram group with 7K members. It’s a bot that posts jobs into 50+ categories. It grows thanks to links on my website and in the newsletter.
Other sources
The majority of the traffic sources are direct through word of mouth plus Google.
Marketing challenges
Well, when you don’t run any ads the growth is slower 🙂 But I’m okay with growing organically.
Also I built a bot to post jobs on Pinterest but that didn’t bring any traffic.
