How Beep got its first 100 users

Using Google Ads, LinkedIn, joining pitching events, and more.

Beep helps teams review and ship web projects faster. It is a fast feedback annotation tool that lets users leave comments on any website and turn them into tasks for teammates.

What makes it great for visual feedback is that every comment automatically comes with a screenshot for more context, and the option to attach files and screen recordings for extra clarity.

Behind the scenes you’ll find Farid Shukurov (CEO), Roberto Perez (CMO), Abbas Mirzayev (CTO), and Maryna Filatenko who is a product designer.

The good-looking Beep team

The growth story told by Beep

Our CEO, Farid, first started building Beep in January 2023 and, within a few weeks, launched its earliest MVP (minimum viable product) on Product Hunt. The user feedback received validated the idea and encouraged him to continue developing the product – this time, alongside a team of people with prior experience managing their own ventures.

Within 3 months, we got our first 100 users. The process involved Google ads, sending cold DMs on LinkedIn and joining startup pitching events and tech conferences for more exposure. It took us longer than expected to find what works and what doesn’t.

Also, don’t be shy to put yourself out there – even when you don’t think you are ready yet. Despite being a young startup with little to go on but potential, we were selected to participate in the TechCrunch Startup Battlefield 2023 in San Francisco, USA, the Web Summit 2023 in Lisbon, Portugal, and were part of the 500 Global Accelerator Program in Tbilisi, Georgia - watch our CEO pitch at the 500 Georgia Demo Day.

Then in December 2023, after months of building a large list of supporters, we decided to launch again on Product Hunt. This time, we successfully emerged with the highly coveted #1 Product of the Day – attracting over 1000 visitors to our landing page within those 24 hours.

Sharing knowledge can be used to great effect. Our CEO decided to publish a short Product Hunt launch guide following our success. Surprisingly, a simple post that took 30 minutes to write was more successful at increasing traffic to our website – effectively driving over 1200 visitors that day. Here’s an article someone wrote on Indiehackers about us.

Currently, we have over 120 companies using our product and 570+ total active users. We’re proud of what we have achieved so far, but the journey has only just begun. There’s a lot more experiments to carry out, a lot more product improvements to develop, and a lot more people out there Beep can support.
